iPhone with a “self-healing” Screen is Under Development
We all know that Apple always works to get different results. Keeping the previous record safe, apple OS now working on a technology that is quite amazing and interesting as well.
According to the recent patent application filed by Apple, they are developing a fold-able iPhone with a “self-healing” screen that can automatically fix the cracks and scratches using heat technology.
Isn’t this technology news interesting?
According to the sources, the proposed technology would use the pliant material that returns to its original form upon heating known as an elastomer.
Patent says that this technology will be used in phones, tablets, laptops, watches and other apple products as well.
The outermost layer will be of clear glass, transparent plastic, or other material that will work as a protective layer listed in the patent name “Electronic Devices With Flexible Display Cover Layers”.
While making a contrast between sapphire glass and gorilla glass, the sapphire glass is thinner and more protective and durable including glass resistant properties. While the gorilla glass currently used in most smartphones.
The patent reads “Self-healing may occur in the layer of self-healing material without prompting (e.g., when the self-healing coating is dented, the material of the coating may fill the dent even without external intervention)”.
The self healing can be done by applying a little heat , light, or any other type of external energy.
